This is absurd and irresponsible, a journalist once again misbehaving on Twitter for clicks.

The Rome Statute defines crimes against humanity. Notably absent from that definition is any liability for nonparticipants. Further absent is liability for states as states.
By definition, crime against humanity requires a predicate bad act (murder, rape, enslavement, etc.) in combination with "widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, and with knowledge."

No U.S. commander has anything to do with the predicate acts.
And, of course, neither the U.S., nor any U.S. commanders, are committing a widespread or systematic attack against the civilian population in Syria.

It's just absurd. A bad journalist repeating obviously bad comments on Twitter for clicks.

Pay for journalism, they said. HAH
