After three riot police, including one wearing a first aid badge on helmet, were heckled out of Salisbury Garden, a platoon of police emerged from cultural centre, and announced this is an unlawful assembly.

Earlier on Sunday night on Argyle St - 90 seconds of intense firing, when protesters, onlookers and protesters had to squat and duck as no one could tell where the bullets were flying when the guns puffed.
"I love Hong Kong police" and "Carrie Lam hold on" from a drunken man on Nathan Road on Sunday night. Both the police and the onlookers fell in embarrassing silence.
In full - the 140 seconds vid of the brawl in Salisbury Garden that kicked off ten hours of clashes on Sunday. It unnecessarily represents a complete answer to "what started it" but this is all I have got.
