I saw some asking why the Post would publish a downbeat story on the day of the World Series. That wasn't the story. It was an effort to show there was, despite what some might say, a kind of neighborhood, with real humanity, before the Nats arrived. 2/

I remember Shirley Povich, legendary WaPo sports columnist, coming into the office in his 90s when I was an intern. He'd be wearing the outfit described here: fedora, tweed jacket, rep tie. He was small but had an iron grip, grasping my shoulder and tell stories of Babe Ruth. 1/
One story that stuck with me was not about the athletes but about his fellow sportswriters. In Shirley's telling, they were covering an important college football game in maybe the 1950s when reporters still wrote on typewriters in open-air press boxes. 2/
As the game was winding down and they were busy on their stories, one of the writers was really struggling with his prose and growing more anguished as deadline approached. Finally, someone urged him to just finish up and send what he had into the newspaper. 3/

John Bolton at CSIS says North Korea "has not made a strategic decision to give up nuclear weapons. I think the contrary is true. The strategic decision Kim Jong Un has made is to do whatever he can to keep his nuclear weapon capability."
Bolton makes case that North Korea's tests of short-range missiles constitute ongoing violation of UN sanctions. Without naming Trump, he adds that suggesting otherwise gives signal to world U.S. doesn't care about UN related sanctions.
Bolton: "When you have asked for consistent behavior from others you have to demonstrate it yourself. When fail to do that, we open ourselves and our policy to failure."

 #TulsiGabbard is the de-facto leader of the emerging leftwing sovereign populist movement in the United States.
I suspect this is by design.
In due time, DNC and RNC will be dissolved and replaced by a #PatriotParty.
She will be one of the leaders.
2.
 She's never going to win the democratic primary, but many voters will see how the DNC and MSM have ganged up on her and will not vote for Hillary or Michelle. Some on the anti-war left might even vote Trump as an act of protest and reprisal.
3.
 If she were to run as an independent. She would siphon votes from the Democrats, not from Trump. She would actually help him. Why would a republican vote for her instead of POTUS? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
