BREAKING.

The State of Colorado reported 2018 Colorado hate crime statistics which were wrong, false or flawed.
OR the State of Colorado is currently reporting 2018 Colorado hate crime statistics that are wrong, false or flawed.

In August, Colorado released their annual crime report with their new report on Colorado hate crime. It showed Colorado hate crimes nearly doubled to 185 in 2018 from 96 in 2017. Much of Media collectively reported the 'hate crimes nearly doubled' narrative.
#copolitics
The 2018 hate crime statistics have quietly been changed or reduced. Now Colorado is showing 139 hate crime cases in 2018 and not the originally reported 185 which was released back in August.

Don't believe it? Read some of the stories the media posted back in August.
This is CPR:

Or Denver Post:

Click the links which say 185 cases. It takes you to Colorado's website which now shows 139 cases in 2018.

Here's what we know.
Colorado's 2018 hate crime stats don't match what they were originally reported.
Original reports for 2018 were 185 hate crimes with 172 victims.
It currently shows 139 hate crimes with 127 victims.
The statistics changed AFTER being released.
#copolitics
We know the 2018 total hate crime numbers/cases changed but the totals for 2017 and 2012 match original reports.
We know the biggest change was in race bias victims, reduced by 39.
We know changes were made in more than just one jurisdiction.
#copolitics
We know Media hasn't updated their original reports from August and I can't find statement from Colorado explaining change/reduction in 2018 hate crimes.
We know much of Media collectively ran with narrative that hate crimes nearly doubled.
#copolitics
One Media outlet even cited an unnamed Government official saying that increased collaboration between state and local law enfircement may have contributed to an increase in hate crime reports.
#copolitics
Here's quick chart I made showing difference in 2018 Colorado hate crimes based on Colorado's data.
Colorado originally reported 2018 hate crime numbers increased by +89 or +93%. It now shows +43 or +45%. Or less than half the increase for 2018 originally reported.
#copolitics
Another narrative also pushed in August was that 2018 had highest hate crime numbers since 2012. Right now, looks like that might be incorrect also given the current numbers.
#copolitics
Here's some questions to start.
Were Colorado's 2018 hate statistics wrong when they were released or are they wrong now?
Why did they change? When? By whom?
Who in Government crafted original narrative that Media appears to have been provided and run with?
#copolitics
Were Colorado 2018 hate crime statistics intentionally manipulated for political reasons?
Was it a mistake? Why not reported?
Should hate crime statistics be audited?
Were changes/reductions made to other 2018 crime statistics?
Was a flawed report released knowingly?
#copolitics
Can Coloradans trust Colorado government created crime reports?
Will Media be collectively updating all their news reports about Colorado 2018 hate crime statistics if the data those reports were originally written off are wrong?
How would it even be possible?
#copolitics
Those are just to start. There will be more.

I tried to have CBI publicly confirm the updated/current 2018 hate crime statistics twice in October but did not receive a reply.
