LGBTQ people experience discrimination in health care, which often prevents them from seeking care, and they frequently have trouble finding alternative services when turned away (especially in rural/remote areas).

Danielle Smith tried this in 2012 and it was a major factor in the election of Alison Redford and the ultimate demise of the Wild Rose Party. Clearly, the majority of Albertans opposed it then, just as they do now.
Courts have ruled that medical professionals and marriage commissioners do not have the "freedom of religion" to deny public service to women, minorities, or LGBTQ2 people (or anyone). This is a violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Modern conversion therapy is happening in many places in society, including in churches and schools with a "welcoming, but not affirming" approach to LGBTQ2 individuals. #LGBTQ2
This approach says, we welcome you into our faith or school, but membership is conditional on remaining silent, closeted, and invisible with a requirement to live "chaste or celibate" lives.
As one religious leader stated, "It's almost like with one hand you're shaking LGBTQ people by the hand, and with the other you're slapping them in the face."

Did you know that Alberta has one of the highest youth suicide rates in the country?

Mental health should be a prominent election issue. Why isn’t it? #abvote
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10-24.
In 2017, 89 youth in Alberta under the age of twenty-five died by suicide.
In 2016, there were 2,095 youth who went to an Alberta emergency department for the first time for self-injurious behaviours.

People who aren't #LGBTQ seem not to know this happens all the time. My wife and I have both been fired for being gay. So has my bestie. I have written numerous news stories about the new trend in firing lesbian teachers who marry. There are no protections for us.

The anger is justified because people doing the same work should get the same pay, regardless their colour, creed ... or age. Anything less is discrimination. Full stop.
The anger is justified because, despite UCP talking points to the contrary, the youth wage will kill more jobs than it creates. That’s because it will provide a big incentive for low-wage employers to replace 18+year-old workers with 15-17 year-old workers.

Point #1. I was on my own paying rent, utilities, food, clothing & transportation when I was 16. My rent, utilities, food, clothing and transportation was NOT at reduced cost because of my age so why should my wage have been reduced because of my age?
Unless we don't care about putting vulnerable people in poverty and holding them there? Unless we don't care about all people in society and if they have the ability to meet their basic needs?
