This is really important. The latest oil demand projections from the International Energy Agency are out today. They suggest that if the world starts living up to the promises they’ve made on climate action, demand for oil will collapse over the next 20 years. #ableg #abpoli

Why is this important for Alberta? Because declining demand, coupled with increasing production (especially from US frackers), is a recipe for another oil price collapse. And when prices collapse, investment and jobs follow suit. #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli

In other words, and oil price recession the likes of which we’ve never seen is bearing down on us like a runaway freight train. But instead of preparing for this threat, the UCP is blaming Trudeau and engaging in crazy conspiracy theories about foreign funded campaigns. #ableg

To make matters worse, the UCP says that diversification is a “luxury we can no longer afford” and they’re cutting funding to all the things we need to better prepare us for the change that’s about to hit us (education, infrastructure, diversification etc.) #ableg

They are literally the worst possible people, with the worst possible agenda, to be in charge of our province at this critical juncture. Here’s where I get to say “told you so.”
