Finally, as far as "Taj Mahal" goes, there is a reasonable debate on whether it was built by Shah Jahan. Whether or not that is true, one thing is clear—Mughals did not bring any architectural skills. Whatever was built was skill of Indian craftspeople.
Magnificent temples were there, which Mughals destroyed. There was no interest in building tombs for dead people.

The skills were Indian, Mughals had nothing to do with it. In fact, India was a leading knowledge center before Mughals. They destroyed universities, killed Brahmins. Europe was in the dark ages but got ahead. How many universities did Mughals build?
