If you're helping with canvassing on the doorstep, remember that persuading voters to vote for *any* non-Tory is a "win".

If you're failing to enthuse them sufficiently to vote for *your* party, can you maybe make lemonade from the lemons by steering them away from the Tories?
For instance, if you're going door to door for Labour and you find yourself talking to someone torn between the Tories and the Brexit Party, why not take a minute to nudge them towards the latter. ("To be honest, if you want to be sure about Brexit, the BP's your best bet.")
The Brexit Party's not going to win seats. So there's no danger. But every single hesitant voter you can direct away from the Tories towards any other party (whether on your side of the Brexit divide, or the other) helps!

Boris Johnson has been Prime Minister for 140 days. During that time, he has made Jeremy Corbyn significantly less electable.

Why? Much is made of the UK not having a presidential system.
That's as may be, but it certainly has a system that relies very strongly on precedent.

But in the last 140 days, we have seen time after time that a rogue Prime Minister can ride roughshod over Parliament by completely ignoring precedent-but-not-law.
In other words, by refusing to follow centuries of precedent, Boris Johnson has demonstrated that being UK Prime Minister accords the office-holder more power than perhaps people had realised before.

Hence the failure to hold him to account even though Parliament voted to do so.

Since 2001, successive Labour & Tory governments have pumped up the UK national debt from under £300 billion to over £1.8 trillion. During the same period, £600 billion of taxpayer money was wasted on servicing the debt. Borrowing is cheap - but not free!

The annual cost of servicing the UK national debt is now running at £30 billion, i.e. 3x what our EU membership costs. We have spent years in trench warfare over our participation in the EU with barely a squeak about the mountain of debt hovering over us.

The UK national debt is continuing to mount every year because the Government runs deficits, i.e. it spends more than it takes in in taxes and borrows to cover the shortfall.

In other words, the cost of servicing the national debt is also rising inexorably.

No denying that Labour is in a worse position than GE2017.

That makes tactical voting even more vital. That doesn't mean tactical voting *for Labour*, but tactical voting for the most effective party in every seat.
