Have y'all ever looked, like really looked, at a giraffe? It's at once one of the strangest & one of the most beautiful animals on the planet. I just watched a video with my toddler of a baby giraffe learning to walk & got teary-eyed. Shout out to giraffes man. Y'all are amazing.
They failed to put "becoming overly sentimental watching animal videos" this in the parenting brochure.
Update: I’ve officially decided giraffes are my favorite animal.

I’ve been following Bryan Stevenson’s work for 15 years, and as I leave the theater after seeing JUST MERCY I’m feeling grateful that so many ppl will discover his work for the first time. It’s an important film about an important issue.

The death penalty needs to be abolished.
Thinking about this more since I saw the film, I’m realizing that one of the most important aspects of it is how it reveals not only that capital punishment is wrong for people who are innocent, it’s wrong for anyone. The state simply should not have the right to execute someone.
So much of the public narrative around mass incarceration is focused on “nonviolent offenders” or those who are wrongly accused.

Those stories *should* be told, but it’s important to include stories of people who did commit harm & what it means to extend mercy to them as well.

A small but important thing: when you go to the movies and the film ends, take a few seconds to pick up your bag of popcorn, candy, and drinks rather than leaving them in your seat.

Don't leave trash behind for other people to clean up that you could easily throw away yourself.
Some folks have responded to this by suggesting that if you clean up after yourself, you're taking away a person's job...

No one is going to lose their job because you decided to pick up your trash. The only thing that will happen is you will have been considerate of someone.

Spent the past few days researching the relationship between foster care & the criminal legal system.

One recent study found that, of young ppl who moved foster homes more than five times, 90% ended up in the juvenile justice system.

These systems fail our kids in so many ways.
Some of the most devastating pieces of data can be found in the relationship between foster care & sex trafficking.

Some studies show that upwards of 80% of the victims of domestic minor sex trafficking have been a part of the foster care system at one point or another.
And because of the criminalization of sex work, these victims of sex trafficking (mostly young girls) end up deeply entangled in the criminal legal system, spending years incarcerated for something they were forced and/or coerced into as children.

The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.
