It is interesting, post-Impeachment, to watch Trump's 2002 reflections on "Citizen Kane," the classic film about the downfall of a celebrity politician, from what was apparently a never-completed Errol Morris project.
Some good insights like, "Citizen Kane was really about accumulation" ... "wealth isn't everything...he had the wealth but he didn't have the happiness." /2
On one level, Trump can't seem to capture Charles Foster Kane's fall, which he calls "modest," because Kane maintained his wealth, even though he lost everything else. /3
But at another level, Trump seems aware that "maybe wealth isn't everything because he had the wealth but he didn't have the happiness." /4
Also notable that Trump's skin tone wasn't yet orange in 2002. /5
