Also... note how at the end when the marionettist kneels to pet the black dog (which is controlled with a single string!) his control stays fixed in place and the white dog's tail continues to wag.

There's a training exercise we do in which you hold a broomstick parallel to the ground with the ends aligned with a point. Not touching, just aligned.
You practice kneeling and standing without letting the orientation change.

We do the same thing with a vertical broomstick over a spot on the floor, walking in a circle until we can keep it at the same point without drifting.
