Factory farming is truly grotesque. The whole food system of corporate capitalism involves some of the most destructive processes: deforestation, pesticides, toxic waste, greenhouse gas emissions. Meat & dairy production by corporations threatens all life.
Industrial fishing is driving the ocean's megafauna towards extinction. Sharks, whales, dolphins, turtles, all being wiped out as bycatch.
Without profound, systemic changes, the oceans will be empty within decades.

Add up the number of humans & animals at threat from lethal heat according to the science (whether by heatwaves or the consequences of out-of-control global warming), and the death toll looks like being firmly in the billions, not just 100s of millions.
Only extraordinary planet-wide system change and the kindness of the climate & ecological gods could prevent huge numbers of humans suffering and dying now. We're set to hit 3°C - 7°C within decades.
