I wonder if the people cheering this insanity on also think Obama provided justification for Putin assassinating dissidents with his program of taking out terrorists with drones strikes (Including an American citizen!)...
Honestly curious how someone argues taking out Soleimani in Iraq justifies Russians killing dissidents abroad, but Obama droning Anwar Al-Awlaki & his son (who was a U.S. citizen, indisputably less of a threat, and in Yemen) does not.....
Also, wouldn't his logic also apply to the Bin Laden raid?

So are there any terrorists Bernie would be willing to take out as CIC? Does them being sponsored by a state automatically give them unlimited immunity to commit terrorism?
& again here is the Obama admin (parroting Clinton admin) explanation regarding difference between self-defense and assassination:

"Killing a person who posed an imminent threat to the United States would be an act of self-defense, not an assassination."

Cheering on leading racists to own Trump. Deranged.
These people really can’t get beyond Trump = bad and anything anti-Trump= good. Doesn’t matter if it’s racists, terrorists, mass murderers etc.

Obviously some Trump cultists have the exact mirrored approach, and its deranged in both cases.
Same thing with Democrats praising the restraint of an Iranian leader who is responsible for countless deaths, including killing 1600+ peaceful Iranian protestors, less than a month ago:

Seeing some reports in ME press that the airplane was accidentally shot down by Iranian forces. Very preliminary and needs confirmation, but really something if the main damage from Iran's attack tonight is due to them mistakenly shooting down a civilian airliner leaving Tehran.

Iran also refusing to hand over the black box from the flight. Really looks like they shot down a civilian airliner leaving Tehran.

Reason unclear. It was either an accident as they were preparing for possible retaliation from the US or intentional action meant to be blamed on the US pending retaliation which never came. In either case, 176 innocent people are now dead and Iran is likely responsible.

Iran has made a calculation about extent of public retaliation they believe US would tolerate without further escalation.

This will not be Iran's only action, but there needs to be a careful consideration of damage and whether further direct confrontation now is in US interest.
I've seen some people note that taking out Soleimani in exchange for what appears to be a face-saving attack w/ no US casualties is a big win. They are correct, but this is unlikely to be Iran's only action. We should be prepared for less conventional attacks down the line.
With that said, there is a strong case for taking the W and avoiding further direct confrontation at this time. We should reinforce our alliance with Iraq as there will now be a competition over who they blame and how they react (Iran for the attack or us for being the targets).

After 70 years of imperial/neoliberal indoctrination the web of lies is so obviously absurde (9/11, Skripal, WH = ISIS, etc.), that it is dissoluting. The empathetic humanity connects, closes ranks and sends their eternal psychopathic rulers and their lackeys into nowhere land.
The "evil empire" is a lifelong three year old child. I certainly loved my children at that age too, however only because they created not only a surreal mess, but also made steady progress.

A great documentary about psychopathy and society:
The elite invented "democracy" to protect them from the empathetic people. The media are their means for misleading the people sedated by "democracy". This is definitely a bad thing since the people have become educated and the elite almost totally insane.

Some thoughts on the debate between Coates and Cornel West, as someone who had the privilege to study with the latter.
I think a lot of folks misunderstand Dr. West’s position because they don’t put themselves in his way of seeing the world. Because for years Dr. West has been very consistent with his critiques of #Obama, #neoliberalism, and #internationalism
West sees the world through an #internationalist matrix of power. That means that, for him, understanding #WhiteSupremacy, for example, isn’t just about understanding individual #racist encounters in the US but understanding *policies* that disenfranchise non-white folk.
