Okay, so back on March 1, 2010, Jafar Panahi, an Iranian director who supported the opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi, was arrested by the Iranian government with his wife, daughter and 15 dinner guests, with all his belongings seized.
Panahi was somebody who had provided films to the Cannes Film Festival a few times, and because he supported Mir-Hossein, he was known as an anti-Iran Government filmmaker. So he was arrested for that.
Many people in Hollywood fought for his release, including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Oliver Stone, the Coen brothers and Michael Moore.

The Iranian Government sentenced Jafar Panahi to a 6-year sentence in jail on December 20, 2010. Another filmmaker, Mohammad Rasulov, faced a similar fate.
Panahi was also banned from filmmaking, scriptwriting, travelling abroad and talking with media for 20 years.

This did not stop Panahi and he released the film "This Is Not a Film" in September 2011 to North America, which he worked on with Mojtaba Mirtahmasb - who had his passport pulled at Tehran Airport and his belongings confiscated.

In August 2011, Michael Moore planned to visit Iran, as announced by Javad Shamaqdari.

It's pretty clear Michael Moore knows about what the Iran Government does when it comes to arresting / banning people from speaking, but now he's begging and pleading with Supreme Joke.

Also, Panahi is still unable to leave Iran. He's still banned from everything.
