Okay, so back on March 1, 2010, Jafar Panahi, an Iranian director who supported the opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi, was arrested by the Iranian government with his wife, daughter and 15 dinner guests, with all his belongings seized.
Panahi was somebody who had provided films to the Cannes Film Festival a few times, and because he supported Mir-Hossein, he was known as an anti-Iran Government filmmaker. So he was arrested for that.
Many people in Hollywood fought for his release, including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Oliver Stone, the Coen brothers and Michael Moore.

Moore signed a petition to release Panahi.
