#HealthInsurance #Bancassurance #AyushmanBharat Having worked in Insurance and Health Insurance, let me share my views. a. Bancassurance - Taking a Mediclaim / Health Insurance policy through your Bank is good if your concern is only regarding premium.
Health Insurance through Banks is inexpensive, which is good. However, service can be an "iffy" thing. Bankers don't have their own Insurance company, their service can take a hit when their alliance with Insurers break down.
And there are always chances that the data of customer with the bank is not clean; that "dirty" data passes onto the Insurance company which will lie low till a claim arises.
When the claim comes, where there are errors in the policy, all hell breaks loose. The cashless does not get approved, the customer with a patient (who might be a patient himself) has to run rounds to get the policy corrected.
And believe me, many of these troublesome claims arise on Friday evenings and weekends when support factor will be thin and your needs are highest. Tough luck !
While one can take insurance online through web aggregators, one may not get the service factor. Once the policy is issued, then not sure how much the aggregator will be involved in providing service - when an endorsement has to be done or when a claim arises.
Insurance is very much a 'Human Touch' business. Companies that provide that human touch will always score in the long run. But companies with a pressure to cut cost, will sacrifice service.
Many Insurers have done away with the concept of Branch Heads, the single point of contact at a local level. For a customer, it is an issue as he/she has to deal with an unknown voice at the other end. And many things get lost during translation.
In my view, going in individual sum insured for each family member (under a single policy) is better than floater Insurance. The premium will be slightly higher but one gets double the coverage on Insurance.
If at all one takes a floater cover, then the minimum sun insured should be a minimum of Rs. 3.00 to Rs. 5.00 Lakhs. @NAN_DINI_ @NandiniVenkate3
Senior Citizens are the hardest hit and it is where #AyushmanBharat comes into play. I believe, @narendramodi sir should include Sr. Citizens in this scheme. @nsitharaman Please consider this request as a service to Sr. Citizens. @Sundaramchitra2
I have put together some thoughts on #healthinsurance for general awareness. If you have questions, post them in comments. I shall try and answer. @mahesh10816 @prasanu202 @mayfair1958 @JumbuTweeple @Kishoreciyer1 @HKA_2017 @RajeIyer @nrajabpcl @DevilonEarth01 @chitranayal09
