FOLLOWERS FROM HELL
There are people who aren't particularly interested in Twitter, who know you in real life, but created an account just to monitor you. It's 5yrs since i stopped using Facebook, because co-workers started using opinion I express there, to undermine me at work.
I tweeted, "you're a bloody fool," at somebody, and a bloody fool that knows me in church, told me he doesnt know I can call people, "bloody fool." Am I suppose to announce in church on a Sunday, "brethren, outside this church, I dey craze o! If you mess up, you go chop aam"
A guy we gave money one time to help the church with certain things embezzled the money. I was already phoning the Commander, MOPOL 23 PMF Squadron, before d pastor rushed at my phone, "Haa! You want to use MOPOL to arrest a member during church service? Christians dont do that!"
People who suck chicken wings bone-marrow at home, leave them as leftovers at parties. Its nothing deceitful.
Certain conditions make us behave in certain ways at certain places. Its a case of etiquette and ethics. This is to the extent rules are written as workplace procedures.
I see social media as a place where we meet new people, then foster relationships as we find comfortable thereafter. Not a place to continue offline insidious teleguiding of people's lives. Develop skills for making new friends. Lets keep this family group chat thing to WhatsApp.
Dont treat d use of this app as an extension of who or what you know people as, offline. A lady has a habit of commenting "I will tell your wife," whenever she sees me banter with female handles. I told my wife myself, and barred her completely from my house & my family. Chikena!
There are bosses who transfer displeasure about what subordinates do online 2d workplace, which has nothing 2do with work. Its not OK to monitor people we have supervisory powers over, on social media. Its sociopathic to track social life of others for purposes that arent social.
The idea about profiling people on social media for purpose of employment is waning. HR experts have begun to realize we have compartmentalized behaviours concerning how we behave to certain people, and how we behave in certain places. Its not deceitful. Its how humans function!
