The article only briefly introduces the concept - buying great companies and leaving them alone for a very long time, while mostly arguing about the Passive vs Active approach (I can't believe this discussion is still ongoing after 35 years).

Thread about Behavioral edge in investing (Just sharing some personal thoughts, not recommendations).

I'm firmly in the camp that believes that investing is as much behavioral as it is intellectual/analytical (assuming Tech/Reg lowered the Information & other type of edges).
On the behavioral side, the best edge that individual investors can develop is in having the discipline and patience for the long term, while learning to deal with extremely good & bad times in the interim.
For me, the behavioral aspect is more useful to keep me in the Mkt all the time (cash % might vary), while trying to think/act different during periods of high $VIX, corrections/bear mkts or even when there's been an extended period of low VIX (suggesting complacency in Mkts)

I once worked for someone who was a bad business man but taught me a great lesson.

The first time he barked at me, it was because I was in his office and didn’t know if I should sit or stand. He said, “Ife, sit.”

I was confused,I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong but I also knew I had to respond.

“Sorry for standing sir,” I responded.

“Did I say I was offended?” He demanded to know.
“No sir” My heart was pounding. It was my first month at work and I thought I was already impressing the bosses.

“Stop saying sorry when you haven’t done anything wrong.” He said dismissively, his anger abated

That day, I didn’t understand him and assumed he was on drugs.
