How I secure my job as a fresh graduate engineer. A thread. Feel free to share. 🤓

1)Before applying for a job, i prepare:

-Proper email name
-A resume
-Recommendation letter
-Ensure all of your certificates in good order
-A portfolio(if you have this, 5 stars)

My parents said i am good in searching a job vacancy. Because usually i always check the job vacancy apps and website such as

LinkedIn💼
Indeed💼
Jobstreet💼
Telegram group💼

I connect with everyone who is from engineering background and also human resources person.

But kadang candidate ramai sangat even though you lebih dari layak for that position.
So how to make the interviewer notice you??

I take my own inititative by calling the person in charge for the job vacancy.

I introduce myself and ask them some questions before shoot an email.

So the step is:

a)Got job vacancy?
b)Call the hr or pic,introduce yourself and ask them some questions
c)Shoot an email

Next, you need to be faster than anyone else. That is why i always check the job vacancy early in the morning.

As i will shoot an email to the recruiter on the same day the job vacancy was advertise.

Effective hours is from 8.30am to 11.30am.

Then for the email.

1)Proper email writing
2)Resume
3)Recommendation Letter

Ramai candidate pandang remeh pasal ni.

Antara kesalahan:
-Subject x proper
-No description just resume seketul send
-File besar sangat
-File in words
-Font tulisan tak syncronize

For the email,make sure you tell em

-Name
-Background education
-Position ape nak apply
-Your work exposure
-What did u study that relate to them
-Your competencies
-Your hope
-Thank them

Don't
-Be creative and make sure your email is from yourself, bukan tiru.

For resume,

TBH, My resume is just an ordinary resume.But i got some feedback from several HR that they like how i add some keywords to my resume.

Sebab kadang dorang susah nak go thru satu2, so if ade keywords, dorang boleh terus highlight that you're suit for the position.

As you can see, what i include in my resume,

-Summary
-Educational background
-Professional Experiences
-Software skills
-Skills(Technical,Lab or Interpersonal)
-Language
-Projects
-Certifications & training
-Achievement & Co-Cu activities
-Preferences & References

Recommendation Letter?

Just ask it from your intern supervisor. Even dah habis still boleh je mintak. No worries.

Portfolio:-

Usually i bring this during my interview session. Summary for your fyp,design project and mini project yang you involve during studies.
