1 #medicaltwitter #TBI #Gaslighting #coverups #medicaltrauma #medicalptsd I know why the back of my neck was scraped out. It just gets worse. At a checkup I asked what happened to the hump on the back of my neck. The surgeon said she scraped it out. That she did! That is where ImageImageImageImage
2 my CSF pooled up! I know why my head hurt after surgery like it was hit! She shunted me, but through the back of my head! So I already had my skull messed with before I hit it on a shelf! And my husband massaging my neck hard not only ruined stuff BUT he disconnected

#cpp #ChronicPain #medicalgaslighting #malpractice #healthinsurancefraud @GovRonDeSantis @RepMattGaetz @DEAHQ Been labeled by stupid algorithms and that is how they hide my malpractice! How many are they hiding? How many others are out there suffering from surgeon mutilation?
And then the doctors lie more to higherups. NEVER been in an accident! I had NO IDEA what she broke and pieced together! In 2017 two of my doctors could have helped me get help! Instead I was blackballed from proper care and legal help too. Our medical system is a disgrace!

@makemytrip we have booked the package with Makemytrip for travel dates on 29-May-23. Made the full payment, however we weren't appraised of the situation with GoFirst even on the last installment payment on 04-May-23. On 08-May we get a mail asking us to book the flights 1/n
Despite of us completing the payment the mail from @makemytrip reads as attached in the snapshot.
We have booked the package as a whole with @makemytrip more than two months before the travel dates, not parts like flights, hotel or car.
2/n Image
Now @makemytrip can't expect the travellers to book the tickets as the airline fare applicable to individual purchaser and those by the travel/ticketing agents are vastly different (in favour of the agents). There is no PNR number that has been shared by @makemytrip too. 3/n

When I walk into a medical office with a severe illness, and you don't listen to me, stereotype me because of my weight, belittle me for being middle aged, and give me stupid and crriminal advice, you deny the work women have been doing for thousands of years. 1/n. #feminism
When you don't listen to a human being who has a master's degree in statistics,a master's degree in demography, and who has an excel spreadsheet of her cholesterol since age 35, you are discriminating against that person. As a woman, I prefer to live in the 21st century. 2/n
When you deny me access to good medical care and use all kinds of slurs to discount the validity of my medical concerns, you are discriminating against me. 3/n #feminism #Minnesota #MedicalMalpractice.

Finding your first attending position is a milestone, both exhilarating & a little frightening.

You may be pleasantly surprised by how much they want to pay you. Don’t get caught up in the $$$.

Here’s 6 things to negotiate outside of salary & benefits 🧵👇

#doctor #wci
1️⃣ Non-Compete Agreements

These limit your ability to practice within a certain distance from job for a period of time.

Ask to reduce the distance or duration of your non-compete. Crucial if you are tied to your geographic area for family or other reasons.

#MD #contract
2️⃣ Restrictions on Other Work

If moonlighting is important, ask for clause to be removed.

Look for language stating work created while employed (even on own time) is employer property. Explicitly add clause that intellectual property you create is yours.

It's pretty simple to ask any of the millions of adult smokers who have switched to nicotine vaping how they're doing. Like this (not scientific; just a social media survey).

But it borders on medical #malpractice that this is not a higher priority for the research community.

We’ve laid out some of the evidence against the homophobic practice of conversion therapy, currently known as “transition.” Now let’s talk about what lesbians in the U.S. need & want. 🧵
1. Lesbians United demands that U.S. legislators sign bills into law that explicitly prevent doctors from prescribing artificial hormones & hormone blockers for non-lifesaving reasons, esp. to minors.
2. Genital mutilation must be outlawed in the U.S., and the law must be clear that the definition of GM includes ALL cosmetic genital surgeries. Criminalize doctors who perform these procedures, and protect their victims.

The US medical establishment is not the first to use artificial hormones as a form of #conversiontherapy. Meet Nazi dr Carl Vaernet, who implanted artificial hormone glands into gay men at Buchenwald. #antifascism

@PeterTatchell Alan Turing, a British scientist convicted of homosexual acts in 1952, was an early victim of hormonal #conversiontherapy. He was sentenced to #estrogen therapy, and died two years later, likely by suicide.

@PeterTatchell @yayitsrob This type of #conversiontherapy is even more prevalent in #Iran, where homosexual acts are punishable by death. Iranian #lesbians and #gay men are being pushed into “sex reassignment.”

THREAD: Let’s talk about the HOW. How do “trans kids” #transition from healthy children to cash cows for Big Med? Let’s break down the process. (1/13)
The first step is the “affirmative model” of #therapy. When a child claims to be or wants to be the opposite sex, well-meaning parents may seek answers from a therapist. An “affirmative” therapist automatically labels the child "trans." (2/13)
It’s important to note that “affirmative” therapists don’t examine children’s #mentalhealth or question their ideas before making a decision. Instead, they “rubber-stamp” children’s psych evals. Src: (3/13)

What is the "affirmative model?"

Let's unpack the difference between the “watchful waiting method” and the “affirmative model,” & how the “affirmative model” locks kids into confusion, distress & medicalization for life. (1/10)
“Watchful waiting” means that parents, therapists, and teachers neither affirm nor deny a child’s desire to be the opposite sex. When a girl says she wants to be a boy, the adults in the room wait to see if she’ll grow out of it on her own. #mentalhealthawareness (2/10)
“Affirmation” means that a girl who wants to be a boy is told she IS a boy. Her parents have her birth certificate changed. Her teachers call her by a boy’s name. Her peers are ordered to play along. She’s given drugs to prevent normal maturation, and told she NEEDS them. (3/10)

New idea for the vax enthusiasts:
1) Every doctor who administers a vaccine must sign an attestation that they have READ THE INSERT and understand the material they are handling and administering.
2) Every doctor will PROVIDE THE INSERT to patients/families prior to vaccination appointment.
3) Every doctor will sign an attestation stating they understand the product and potential risks and are confident in performing the vaccination with all the integrity of their oath.
3) Every patient will receive signed copies of these documents at the time of agreeing to vaccination.

With very real world consequences:

Having seen the impact of just one 'slipped grade' (my elder son, several years back) my heart goes out to all those students receiving new like this today.
Hmm. Who at @ofqual signed off on an appeals process that operationalises the dog-eat-dog #ethics of the #HungerGames?

#Thread on Risk Management as regards Medical malpractice:

A few years ago, I was invited by the American Dental Association to speak on this topic. A few salient features of my talk follows. Please note not all may apply to India but at the end people are people everywhere!
The most common reason patients consider legal action against dentists are:
1) Negative comment made by one dentist about work done by another dentist.
2) Patient feeling neglected and unable to reach the dentist for post operative issues, during or after office hours.
3) Being chased for money owed for treatment that was unsatisfactory.

Points to learn:
1) Unless you were involved at every step pre, mid and post treatment refrain from passing negative judgement about other doctors. There is no way for anyone to know for sure what happened.

#Hahnemann is a cautionary tale of for-profit companies plundering a #SafetyNetHospital for a land deal. After speaking with several former physician trainees and the Internal Medicine PD @DaveAizenberg. The stories were disheartening. We must do better. #HahnemannStories 1/
#Hahnemann #tweetorial-In all the talk of policy changes and corporate malfeasance, the personal impact cannot be undersold. One story that needs to be shared is that of Erika Correa (permission given to share her experience). #HahnemannStories #medtwitter #MembersMoveMedicine 2/
Dr. Correa was starting #HemeOnc fellowship orientation at #Hahnemann when the closure was announced on June 26. She was suddenly without a program, funding, or health insurance. She had bought a house in Philadelphia, planning to stay at least 3 more years. #medtwitter 3/
