On fish, a rare area where the UK has serious leverage with the EU. Question for government is whether to use that to benefit UK fishing fleet or gain concessions elsewhere. The EU opening bid is I think less relevant than this internal UK discussion.
To clarify for consistency - EU is larger market in trade talks = their leverage. Access to large UK waters = ours.
A few comments like the below. This is the equivalent of the German car maker argument though. Even with tariffs UK waters are a valuable commodity, and we are short of those in EU talks (the City is another)
