The camp at 39KM isn’t blocking the road. It’s ten meters off the road. The RCMP took down this canvas fence between the road and the camp and appear to be dismantling the camp. Jerome Turner is embedded at the camp at 44 KM and we’ll be tweeting live updates from him.

One person wouldn’t get out of their truck. The RCMP broke the truck window to get to them.

UPDATE: RCMP have blocked the Morice Forest Service Road at 4KM. More RCMP units reported to be on the move to the area from Houston. #cdnpoli

UPDATE: Heavy machinery is reportedly being lined up at the RCMP checkpoint at 4KM. The pipeline company will waste no time getting to work once the RCMP have cleared the #Wetsuweten off their land. #cdnpoli
NOTE: The area where the road is unplowed, and blocked by several felled trees, is between the camp at 39KM the RCMP raided this morning, and the camp at 44KM. It may take some time for RCMP to make it to the Gidimt’en checkpoint at 44KM. That’s where journalist Jerome Turner is.

UPDATE: A journalist with Vice has been arrested by the RCMP while trying to cover the ongoing raid.

Update: Vice journalist @jwints was detained, not arrested, and released far from the scene. We’ve asked the RCMP for comment on why they did that, still waiting for them to return our call.
