Before we ruin the life of the woman who accused these Two Ohio State football players we need the facts. The men were charged and jailed by police on kidnapping and rape. This young woman cannot get her reputation back if you prejudge her.
This is why you'll rarely to never hear me prematurely dolling out verdicts in ongoing cases and lawsuits. While it's very rare for someone to pull a Smollett, I do think that as social media mobs become more common and influential, we'll see more such behavior. HOWEVER ...
... it's still absolutely vital we take all abuse accusations very seriously. I don't see anything about this woman's story that seems "shady," but even if it was, an investigation by pro law enforcement and a fair trial is in the best interest of whoever the innocent party is.
If the alleged victim is telling the truth, we want her exonerated, honored, and for her offenders to recieve justice.

If the alleged offenders are innocent, we want them to be exonerated, restored to their teams, and their false accuser to recieve justice.
I'm not a fan of social media mobs or keyboard warriors, let alone social media juries and keyboard judges, but this goes both ways. You cannot encourage people to withhold judgment in one sentence, and call the victim "shady" in another. You're doing what you're condemning.
PS: It's also important to understand; the police are going to release partial info to protect the integrity of their investigation. Lawyers will spin those partial facts in favor of their clients. The media then chews up and regurgitates this smorgasbord, and that's what we get.
