If only the press spent as much time talking to black voters supporting Bloomberg 'against their self-interest' as they did talking to 'working class' white voters in diners who voted for Trump 'against their self-interest' we might actually learn something about this primary
Bloomberg hasn't earned one delegate, so the polls showing his black support should be viewed as a warning shot, not a death knell for Biden or a warning to Sanders.
From 2015-2018 we watched journalists and pundits find every single all white diner they could and ask questions, promoting the "economic anxiety" myth and finding ways to empathize and humanize literal NAZIs at some points to make Trump's election seem reasonable
One little poll comes out showing black voters are looking at Bloomberg w/ his terrible policy history & twitter explodes, the poll is cited constantly on air but hardly anyone is actually TALKING to the black voters who made the switch (for now).
So it's okay to empathize w/ the unemployed white guy who voted for Trump even though he routinely screws over the working class but makes them proud to be white. But we can't empathize w/ black voters considering a racist for fear of living under a white nationalist?
