Nominating a compromise candidate like Bloomberg bec "stopping Trump is all that matters" is lousy strategy. When the enemy attacks, you have a chance to GAIN ground, dammit!

Our goal shouldn't be merely to stop Trump; it should be to ADVANCE the Dem agenda!

Boxers know that every punch leaves the opponent open to a (potentially KO) counterpunch. Military strategists know that every attack leaves the enemy open to a counterattack. Good QBs know that the chaos of a broken play often results in a touchdown.

So why are we aiming merely to "stop Trump"? Trump's "success" is an opportunity for Dems to ADVANCE their agenda! Everyone knows he's corrupt now, giving Dems an excellent chance of winning the WH. Shouldn't we counterpunch/counterattack by electing an AGGRESSIVE leader?

Napoleon understood the tactical importance of the counterattack: "the greatest danger occurs at the moment of victory." Republicans are in such danger now. Cool, cool. They've left themselves open. Caution is cowardice. Let's counterattack and gain (not merely regain) ground.

I'm not a Sanders fan, but if there ever were a time someone like him could actually accomplish something, the period of backlash against Trump is it. I like Warren even better: she has strong ideas for advancing the ball, not just falling on it.

This is not a time for the Resistance to play it safe. It is not the time for a placeholder president who merely is Not Trump. It's time to COUNTERPUNCH, to GAIN ground, to HURT the GOP + the oligarchs by electing a change agent.
