Now Pakistan's largest bank is under investigation for suspicious transactions...

The bank was previously shut out of the US financial system under sanctions. Actions that led to Pakistan being added to the global watchlist for #moneylaundering & suspicious banking.
Now Pakistan faces being placed on the FATF blacklist...
This meeting began today in Europe & may have serious ramifications for Pakistan including shutting down IMF bail out programs. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Pakistan of course has a history of laundering money for terrorist financing but is finally being held accountable because US sanctions under Trump lead the FATF to impose sanctions too!
FBI & SDNY have been working for several years with NY state banking regulators to use their authority to investigate banks with licenses to operate branches in NYC. Giving everyone lots of receipts to work with!
The bank has been working with Pricewaterhousecoopers to set up an accountability & control scheme in place. But PWC has also faced scrutiny in other cases for helping clients avoid compliance...
Many of the banks problems stem from enabling Iranian clients to conduct trade & avoid sanctions in violation of US & international sanctions...
It also ties in to the Gupta family in South Africa, looks like as investigators closed in on them in 2016, some of their money fled to the UAE & through this Pakistani bank...
Also interesting is a tie in with the Agra Khan Fund for Economic Development. We will be learning much more about them in the future, I am sure.
Weirdly the Agra Khan Fund supposedly got defrauded out of 20 million euros by some crooks in rubber masks pretending to be the French minister of defense...
Or is that just a cover story to explain the money?

World Bank chief economist leaves after WB won't let her publish a report showing that putting aid into a developing economy increase the money leaving the country & getting laundered into off-shore tax havens!

Seems their research found that about 5% of foreign aid goes almost directly to tax havens. I suspect even more goes there indirectly through consulting contracts, loans & other instruments used to hide these transactions.
The Economist is pay walled & I haven't found another access yet to read it in full.
It did lead me to this great paper, showing 15% of oil price windfalls to third world regimes go directly to off-shore havens.

I hate to go here, but I have to point out where someone is leading people astray with their theories. I used to be a big fan but over time, I have seen diversion from the facts to support theory. Not to mention #FearPorn as click bait or worse.

It is almost like Sundance is accusing Trump of being part of the coup here... He does this by assuming people who have been shown to be acting in Trump's interest & on his orders of being part of the conspiracy to get Trump.
He starts by focusing on Dana Boente, then US Attorney but also Acting AG, Acting Deputy AG & Acting AAG for National Security.
All roles President Obama tried to block Boente from serving in but Trump expressly appointed him to against Obama's orders. palmerreport.com/opinion/dana-b…

Andy Khawaja is the CEO of Allied Wallet.

I did a thread on Allied & an FTC complaint for processing payments for fraudsters.

Allied Wallet is also a customer of Germany's Wirecard. Wirecard has it's own set of scandals going on as well. I won't get into another rabbit hole about them right now, but here's one thread on them re suspicious transactions in Asia.

Anger and distrust toward Russia crosses party lines in Washington. Hardly anyone endorses Trump’s desire “to get along” w Russia or skepticism about Kremlin actions in 2016. Additional sanctions on Russia make abundant sense to us, if only to box in the Trump administration. 2/
