Problematic at many levels
1 Values do NOT have to be universal
Moral diversity is real, desirable
2 Experiential wisdom is context-specific
It never leads to "universal truths"
3 Faith is not an "exogenous" factor
But rooted in cultural experiences
What's considered "decent" in US, may be regarded as v cheap and vulgar in India
What's considered "acceptable" in India may be way off limits in Saudi Arabia
Lines that are drawn are culture-specific. So are the values determing these lines
Values do differ, though there may be some mundane universal values like "Don't eat human beings"
What makes human life interesting is moral diversity - that exists not merely across geographies but often within a geography - leading to Politics.
