The basic dilemma of the Sanders campaign: it is running on a message of radical change -more radical than Obama, more radical than the Great Society, more radical than the New Deal -

in a year when Americans are more positive about the status quo than at anytime since 1998.
I agree there is much truth to the below point
But if you accept that point, the Sanders project looks even more doomed. Sanders did so well in 2016 in great part because he became a vehicle for racial and sexual resentment against Obama and Clinton. Those resentments won't be a resource for him against Trump.
