What is clear: #SanDiego is full of ambitious politicians who change party, office and/or districts to stay in/run for office.

2/ Related: 2 of 3 recent Chairs of @sandiegodems were "reformed" #Republicans

They changed their party registration then worked against #progressives when they run against #moderates. Women of color were especially impacted by moderate party policies & actions in 2018

3/ @sandiegodems used "member communication" $ to attack @CD4Monica @vivianmorenoSD in their elections

Both women won- despite institutional #Democrat opposition. Hopefully this teaches local Democrats about the power & need for #diversity & representation in #SanDiego politics

Remember: they declined to throw much support behind @GJonesWright when she ran against her in 2018 (why? see previous tweets)

5/ If @SummerStephan defects- should @sandiegodems welcome a prosecutor who refused to test thousands of sexual assault evidence kits- until pushed by her #Democratic opponent?

6/DA candidate @GJonesWright pushed Stephan to take this action & deserves our thanks.

But the DA didn't go far enough & allowed SD Crime Lab to keep 1000s of untested SAKS. She then threw SDPD under a bus once failures to follow standard testing protocols became public.

Why?

7/ Fear? Ambition? Shame?

The @SDDistAtty knows #SanDiego voters are electing more #Democrats- esp those who are former #Republicans.

Once endorsed by the the party voters don't ask about "prior bad acts" if a person changes party- which is too bad- because the fact is...

8/ @SummerStephan Stephan denied justice to 1000s of survivors of sexual assault.

Stephan allowed evidence to sit on shelves in #SDPD Crime Lab for years. Despite her recent denials- she allowed them to be tested in ways that almost guaranteed no #DNA would be detected.

9/ #SanDiego voters deserve a new @SDDistAtty - not one who is willing to change parties to rehabilitate her image.

And @sandiegodems need to deny endorsements to "reformed" #Republicans whose actions while in office harmed survivors of sexual assault and other violent crimes.
