This ILLEGAL effort to embed foreign workers was designed to present Cambridge Analytica, whose parent, SCL Group, was based in London, as “an American brand” to appeal to U.S. political clients.🙄 2/

U.S. election laws CLEARLY say that foreign nationals (w/o a green card) must not “directly or indirectly participate in the decision-making process” of a political campaign, although they can play lesser roles.🤨 3/

NY attorney, Laurence Levy, *warned in a memo* to CA heads — Rebekah Mercer, Steve Bannon & CEO Alexander Nix — that foreign nationals could NOT be involved in significant campaign decisions or provide high-level analysis or strategy.🤨 5/

Cambridge Analytica refused to comment about *illegally* acting as a FOREIGN AGENT in US elections.🙄 12/

After Nix got “nixed,” acting CEO, Alexander Tayler, expressed regret over CA’s illicit use of Facebook data, tweeting, “As anyone who is familiar w/our staff & work can testify, we in no way resemble the politically-motivated & unethical company some have sought to portray.🙄13/

John Bolton’s SuperPAC also hired CA, but claims Bolton, not CA staff, made all strategic decisions & had been “unaware of any alleged impropriety” by Cambridge Analytica until recent news reports.🙄 14/
