Two helicopters approaching the #GrandPrincess with #coronavirus test kits. Again, my parents are on board (as well as many other parents and siblings and children). Please pray for them. @PrincessCruises @GavinNewsom @KTVU #COVID19
The helicopters have now departed. I assume all those who need testing will have samples drawn, after which the samples will be delivered to Richmond where the four-hour-long testing procedure commences.
I'll post additional updates here. Again, thanks to the hardworking reporters covering this story.
- No strict order to return to rooms but it's suggested
- Passengers are told to maintain six feet of distance from one another
- Suggested that diners space themselves by a seat
- Foods are served to plates rather than self-served
- Helicopters will come back this evening to pick up lab samples
- The ship will NOT dock today in San Francisco
- The buffet is still open
- Just announced that it will be room service only, that passengers stay in their state rooms. Menus will be distributed for food choices.
Another video of personnel dropping down from one of the helicopters. Taken from one of my parents’ friends.
UPDATES:

- Passengers still in rooms
- Dinner menus delivered for room-service-only meals
- Helicopter(s) came back, likely to pick up samples
For the purists who want to know everything that's happening, here's the dinner menu:
- No announcement yet about test results or next plans. Just sitting and waiting in state rooms.
- Just had an announcement. No test results yet. They ensure everyone that water from the tap is filtered drinking water. A questionnaire will be distributed for any other concerns such as medication shortages, etc. Next announcement will be at 1 pm.

They just delivered activity kits and added 99 movies to the entertainment system. Mom wonders if they will be stuck on board for 14 days.

No one is allowed in the hallways. Passengers are confined to their state rooms. “This is a plush prison,” said my mom.
