The vessel was in Kauai, Maui, Big Island and Oahu from Feb. 26-29 while here passengers were allowed to leave the ship
The first case was on Oahu did seek medical care here contacted their doctor and was assessed— they are doing fine and at home. They tested positive today.
They will be trying to start sentinel testing where they could survey as many as 200 individuals they had hoped to start this next week but with testing ramping up this may take longer to start up.
*to clarify: the resident went on the Mexico cruise. They flew home to Hawaii fell ill and then sought care and then tested positive for coronavirus today. And is now under quarantine.
Correction: a previous tweet of mine said the first case was from the Hawaii cruise ship— it was from the Mexico cruise ship. They flew home after their cruise and fell ill after returning home to HI.
