That one sentence is the thesis statement of “1776”—a non-partisan black-led response to the New York Times’s “1619 Project” initiative, which launched last week at D.C.’s National Press Club. Bob Woodson, Glenn Loury, Coleman Hughes #1619Project

"The American history of black enslavement lasted 244 years. Leftist democrats have been tearing at the scab for 157 years. Race merchants have monetized it. (D)s, creators of the KKK, have exploited it.
The 1619 project is academic self-abuse"

Many of the claims made by the #NewYorkTimes 1619 Project, which attempts to link everything from non-socialized medicine to American sugar consumption to historical slavery, are simply not true.
The 1619 Project has been adopted in more than 3,500 classrooms in all 50 states. Five school systems, including Chicago & Washington, D.C., have adopted it district-wide. School Systems R adopting the project by Administrative Fiat, not through a PublicTextbook review process.
Gordon Wood, a leading historian of the American Revolution & emeritus professor at Brown University said the NYT material “is full of falsehoods and distortions.”..the only way to use it in the classroom would be “as a way of showing how history can be distorted and perverted."
The 1619 Racist project’s leader, Times journalist @nhannahjones has declared since the magazine’s publication that her goal “is that there'll be a reparations bill passed” – meaning financial reparations for slavery and subsequent racial discrimination.

@nhannahjones has declared since the magazine’s publication that her goal “is that there'll be a reparations bill passed” – meaning financial reparations for slavery and subsequent racial discrimination.
Reparations to African-Americans has already been paid. Since the passage of the Civil Rights Act and the advent of the Great Society in 1965, trillions of dollars in transfer payments have been made to African-Americans in the form of welfare benefits and racial preferences
(in contracts, job placements and educational admissions)- all under the rationale of redressing historic racial grievances. It is said the reparations is necessary to achieve a healing between African-Americans and other Americans.
If trillion-dollar restitutions and a wholesale rewriting of American law (in order to accommodate racial preferences) is not enough to achieve a “healing,” what is?
The 1619 Project is a series of essays about slavery and racial issues. Its primary claim is that racism has tainted every aspect of America’s founding and development.
African-American Scholars are eviscerating The New York Times’ 1619 Project. They write;"The project is intended to offer a new version of American history in which slavery and white supremacy become the dominant organizing themes."

We are writing to you today, with numerous others, to express our deep concern about the New York Times’ promotion of The 1619 Project & it's plans to create and distribute school curriculums which will feature this re-centering of the American experience. hnn.us/article/174140

“The New York Times is an embarrassment to journalism. They were a dead paper before I went into politics, and they will be a dead paper after I leave, which will be in 5 years. Fake News is the Enemy of the people!” @POTUS @realDonaldTrump
