I'd note that the EU-Canada deal consists of 1,598 pages of text. So this looks like matching UK games with EU ones. Not exactly reassuring.
I'm not reassured this is a great plan on either side. At best haggling over words might limit the megaphone negotiations, but I'd rather have seen some more consideration of the relationship before going to the legals.
Anyway it seems the EU might have been the first to suggest draft text in which case perfectly reasonable for the UK to respond. I'll stand by my thought that premature text in a trade agreement is not actually a good thing.

Brexit negotiations should be suspended immediately except to agree the modalities of an extension to make up for any time lost.

A simple matter of priorities. Managing a pandemic, supporting individuals, and protecting from potential financial crisis must be the focus... 1/
Trade negotiations are all embracing - typically in some way or other covering all departments. The central team will need answers from them at some point, and right now you cannot make any case that responding should be anywhere near the highest priority 2/
Then there is the work to make sure the UK is ready for January 1 2021. This involves new systems, agencies taking on new responsibilities, and complexities with how this works in Northern Ireland. Important stuff. Bound to be delayed in the next 3 months. 3/

Indeed. The balance of the day to day and beyond the next few weeks has to be a huge consideration.
Global recession starts to seem inevitable. As per earlier retweets, where are the global institutions such as the G20?
It is rightly pointed out that global cooperation is tricky if the US won't play. Tricky, but still important to try. Unless we're saying no US, no global cooperation...

Ivan Rogers is in optimistic mood.

Well, not completely pessimistic. He thinks there *might* be a very skinny deal.
Rogers suggests we're going to need a trade deal, implying deeper than the current talks, at some point. But it might not happen this year. I agree entirely.
But Rogers thinks on balance no deal this year, all the way out, then have to build up from nothing. It may take some time.

Point 5: "relationship between sovereign equals" is - although UK Gov entitled to say this - delusional. #UK much smaller than #EU and more exposed to EU economically than vice-versa. Sovereignty argument coming through strongly here.

on the duration of the usage of the backstop, have been raised and discussed in Parliament. We have also raised them previously in negotiations." So there are her proposals, i.e. the EU should basically just cave on backstop in face of House of Commons defeat. But but but ... 3/
