Trump is an authoritarian. All authoritarians are insecure and incompetent because of that insecurity.
He can’t help but make this worse and as it does he’ll blame vulnerable populations and seize power.

We need to have a discussion, right now, about how to ensure our elections will be carried out and how to rein in a president who is unstable, dangerous, and making use of a pandemic to carry out undemocratic actions.

Already Trump is actively talking and bragging about his emergency powers. Obviously someone’s been in his ear. Obviously it’s at the front of his mind. People like him, men like him, naturally veer in this direction.
It’s predictable. It’s obvious.

As the numbers get worse for him Trump will blame conspiracy theories, other countries, liberals, minorities, immigrants. Society will stretch thin and paranoia will thrive. He’ll stoke it and he’ll use his power. He can’t operate any other way. It’s who he is.
