Peter, I received the same ad many times just now at 11:30am ET while reading Covid news. Importantly, due to my browser and privacy settings, I'm near-certain it's being contextually targeted at me based on the content. This should be simply for Google to detect. Abhorrent. 
It should be noted as I cite in my Thursday op-ed, at same time Google is likely blocking more legit advertising funding across the news category than any other company due its dumb keyword blocking approach which maximizes its own $$$ interests. digitalcontentnext.org/blog/2020/03/1…
And please no one tell me it's a resource issue for Google to stop this, especially because they had 1,700 engineers working on that new site they launched last night. A reminder @MarkWarner and @SenBlumenthal sent a letter on this issue earlier this week.
Google should move 1,000+ engineers from its adtech / surveillance data business it provides for the commercial/advertising sector over to dealing with harmful advertising ... and change its defaults to exempt authoritative news brands from covid-related keyword blocking now.
