A #Thread about what the private sector is doing to support Governments across Nigeria in the #Covid19 response:

(If I miss anything pls share, I’ll add)
“Guaranty Trust Bank @gtbank is setting up a 100-bed Intensive Care Centre at Onikan (Lagos) for Nigerians that may be infected by #coronavirus, the bank said Tuesday.” google.com/amp/s/business…
.@GIGMobility offering to donate buses to @NCDCgov to support its operations.
“Nigerian auto manufacturer @innosonvehicles said on Monday that it was ready to convert its assembly lines to start producing critical medical equipment that may be in short supply as the country battles the #coronavirus pandemic.” premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news…

.@LifeBankNigeria is building a national database for critical medical equipment in #Nigeria: ventilators, respirators, ICU Beds, etc.

“Aero Contractors has offered its aircraft, both fixed wing and helicopters, to @NigeriaGov for airlift of relief materials, medical equipment and personnel in the fight against the #coronavirus pandemic.” google.com/amp/s/business…
[Aero is now majority-owned by @NigeriaGov - having been taken over by AMCON, so maybe it technically doesn’t qualify as private sector]
.@VitafoamNG is donating 100 units of Mattresses and Pillows to @followlasg Isolation Centers.
From outside the country Chinese Billionaire @JackMa has donated testing kits and masks. Nigeria should be getting about 20,000 testing kits, if the 1.1m total for Africa is divided by the number of African countries. Nigeria’s consignment landed via @flyethiopian yesterday.
.@myaccessbank and Aliko Dangote Foundation have created something called the Coalition Against #Covid19 - CACOVID.

CACOVID is erecting a total of five equipped 1,000-bed medical tents in Lagos, to serve as testing, isolation and treatment facilities for the #Coronavirus.
If you have any details about the other members of #CACOVID #Nigeria, apart from the @myaccessbank and Aliko Dangote Foundation, please share.
I’m told this is a video of the @gtbank isolation facility under construction in Onikan, Lagos. #Coronavirus
@Jumia_Group has offered African governments use of its last-mile delivery network for distribution of supplies to healthcare facilities and workers.“ @JumiaNigeria google.com/amp/s/techcrun…
Still on #CACOVID:

Rollout planned for 1st week in April: thecable.ng/covid-19-first…
.@FATEFoundation has set up a N250 Million #COVID19 Support Fund, seeded it with N50 Million, & identified National Orthopedic Hospital Igbobi, Lagos, & Ogun State Ministry of Health as immediate beneficiaries of the Fund.

[Reach out to FATEFound regarding donations to the Fund]
.@FATEFoundation: “We have offered to @OGSGofficial the use of our Institute for Venture Design facility in Abeokuta. The Facility has a 30-room residential space, and additional open plan spaces including a 235 sqm Studio which can be converted into wards for #COVID19 patients.”
.@weare54gene says it’s launched a fund to support @NCDCgov to tackle the current challenges around testing for #COVID19 in Nigeria. 54gene seeded the fund with $150,000 and says it’s secured an additional $350,000 from partners like @UNIONBANK_NG: cfamedia.ng/more-coronavir…
.@UBAFoundation Breakdown of its N5 Billion commitment to #Covid19 response across Africa:

—Committing to fund an isolation & treatment centre immediately in Lagos, Nigeria
