Here is a summary thread of today’s #COVID19AB public health update and some details on our efforts to slow the virus.

It’s been 3 weeks since Alberta’s first case of COVID-19 - to many it feels like more time has passed. I know you wonder what the next 3 weeks hold. (1/8)
Today, we have confirmed 67 news cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, bringing our total to 486 cases Alberta. 34 may be community transmission, an increase of 1 since yesterday. 21 people are being treated in hospital, with 10 in ICU. (2/8)
13 people from the McKenzie long-term care facility who were previously symptomatic have now tested positive, an increase of 8. No additional cases have been confirmed in the continuing care facilities and group home settings that previously reported cases. (3/8)
Today I am pleased to share that 27 Albertans have recovered from COVID-19. We are still working on streamlining reporting processes and expect these numbers to increase. (4/8)
We are all being impacted by this virus as we continue to confirm new cases in every zone, and in all age groups.(5/8)
Three weeks ago, I said COVID-19 would test our health system, and it has responded remarkably. Last month, our labs were completing a handful of tests a day and are now completing over 3,000 a day. From Health Link to assessment centres, hospitals to home care, thank you. (6/8)
Across Alberta, we also thank community leaders, social services workers, staff in shelters, custodians and cleaning staff, and countless others who have undertaken tremendous work to keep us safe and healthy. (7/8)
Your health is, and will always be, our top priority. (8/8)
