thinking about this open letter from a doctor on the eve of the election and just a couple of months before Covid-19 began to hit the NHS. 
thinking about how doctors, nurses and scientists are always top of those "who do you trust most" in British attitudes surveys. and about how politicians and journalists are always bottom. and i'm thinking about how little that means in terms of political outcomes and culture.
mostly i'm just thinking about how nationalism & whiteness are so utterly dominant over every aspect of this rancid political culture. and any hope we have of anything better requires an open assault upon these two pillars that dominate long 20thC Toryism, Liberalism & Labourism
