Statistically, in the US a shooting incident takes place every 60 hours. We are down to hours in between shootings. Not days, weeks, months or years. It’s HOURS.

Every day in the US, 96 people die from gun violence & 222 people are shot but survive.

Australia, had 4 mass shootings between 1987–1996. After 1996, It took Parliament just 12 days to pass stricter gun laws. They haven’t had a mass shooting since. It’s been 34 days since Parkland.

The US needs to follow their lead.

The latest blame by Trump and Congress is Video games. This is fallacy. Japan’s video game sales are almost double the US’. In 2015, they had 1 murder by gun. The US had over 10,000. Japan has Gun Control laws, we do not.

Illinois ratified the ERA in June, leaving just One state needed to change constitutional hurdles to ratification.

The 14th & 19th aren’t enough.

The ERA ensures equal rights regardless of gender, was passed in 1974 - 44 years ago. Why is this still even a thing?

Gender equality will boost the economy over $4.3 trillion in a decade.

It was passed in 1974 but 44 years later it still hasn’t been ratified.

Even guns have a constitutional amendment.

In July, Trump signed an EO to end the competitive selection process for judges. This makes them political appointees who he can fire at will
In order to rush his judge noms thru, Trump is bypassing judicial ratings processes by ABA before making his noms. His predecessors went thru the screening process 1st & nixed judges not qualified by ABA

Only 2 judges from 1989—2016 were rated not qualified compared to Trump’s 6

Today I want to talk about why the recent indictment of 12 GRU members is the purest baloney. In order to do that, I have to explain some things about computer security and forensics, so you’ll understand why what I claim about the indictment makes sense.
Think of all the computers in the world as one interconnected glob. Any computer in the world can talk to any other computer in the world at any time so long as both computers are on and connected to the internet. The only exception to this is computers with private IP addresses.
There are exceptions. For example, if I can can access on ONE computer on your network, then even if ALL the other computers are on private IP addresses, I can still talk to them using the one I hacked as a gateway. I’ll give you an example.

These are dark days. All we can do is fight.
We can’t any of us fix it all. But we can band together to bring more and more light.

Find a place to invest your time and energy and give that everything you have.

Election campaigning? Protest organizing? Lobbying? Direct service to vulnerable/impacted folks? Do something.
We need artists to manifest what seems hidden in this moment. We need data analysts to bring receipts. We need lawyers and op-ed writers and community organizers and policy researchers and whistleblowers and trauma therapists and systems administrators and you.

We need you.
