त्यानंतर कॅप्टननी #अजित_डोवाल यांचीही भेट घेऊन संबंधित मुद्द्यांवर चर्चा

Pakistan's international positioning has improved multi-folds in the last 2 years under PM @ImranKhanPTI's leadership.

This was a much-needed step to improve peace and prosperity in the area, but like everything this govt. has done, this too did not come easy. (1/n)
2) The govt. inherited the current account deficit of $20B which has been reduced to $3B. The borrowing from the State Bank stood at PKR 6T when @PTIofficial came to power, but it has been brought down to ZERO.

How?

Through carefully curated international relations.
3) The first challenge was inflation. @StateBank_Pak warned it could double & go up to 7.5%. Where PM @ImranKhanPTI avoided going to the @IMFNews, he still wanted to reduce the size of any bailout by appealing to allies for bilateral financial support & saving us from bankruptcy.

These last two years have been immensely interesting, to say the least. Where one claim is that the sitting government isn't performing, the other side is all praise for the leadership.
All in all, the conclusion is one - we're moving forward, despite the situations. (1/n)
2) So, I sat down to do some research to draw a quick summary of what's been happening. Since transparency is @ImranKhanPTI's motto, it didn't take very long.

Following is a quick look at what's to be applauded in the last 2 years and especially the last few months.
3) To start off, PM @ImranKhanPTI's 100-day agenda was defined by 5 shifts and 34 promises. The shifts were focused on the poor, changing government culture, strengthening the federation, re-building Pakistan’s international credibility and setting a direction for progress.

So yesterday I was at the Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, #Pakistan via the Kartarpur Corridor. This photo thread is about my journey to Kartarpur.

I've got a lot of queries already & I'm working on detailed blog posts.

The nearest town to reach Kartarpur Corridor from #India is Dera Baba Nanak which is 2km from the border. Reached here by bus after a 1:30 hrs journey.

Since it was just 2km, I walked from Dera Baba Nanak to the Border terminal. On the way a couple of BSF check posts. Got the first glimpse of Pakistan flag and this is the terminal building.

The worlds largest democracy has today exposed the dangerous faultlines with the whole concept of democracy. Thus, when dangerous demagogues exploit fear & prejudices of the majority voters, the lives and freedoms of minority communities are easily sacrificed
#BabriMasjid
As we have witnessed with Trump's America, Brexit Britain, France, Italy, Austria etc etc, once a mob is incited, the supposedly decent elements of the majority communities become powerless.

Ok, so this 15 tweet thread was a replug of my long held point of view on the terror apparatus in the Valley.
Now let me share some thoughts on today's #PulwamaAttack.
Still disjointed, but let's see how it goes
2
#PulwamaAttack
Firstly, what happened and how it happened is by now well known. So I won't talk about it.
In addition, it continues to be my belief that it is Pakis that are behind it. Thoughts on that are embedded in the first tweet of this thread.

#PulwamaAttack
Let me concentrate instead on some thoughts that have been wracking my head for the past few hours.
Firstly, and strictly a personal opinion, this is partly a manifestation of the planned US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Folks, sharing some thoughts on the #KartarpurCorridor in the next few tweets.
Let's see how it goes ..
2
#KartarpurCorridor
Firstly, about Gurudwara Dera Saheb Kartarpur. It was here that Guru Nanak spent a chunk of his last years at that location. Hence the emotional attachment of Sikhs to that place.
3
#KartarpurCorridor
Secondly, about its physical location. The Gurudwara is located just above 2km from the nearest point on the Indian Border, across the Ravi River.
Thus, a corridor for controlled access to the Gurudwara is eminently feasible.
Here is a Google Maps screenshot.

PM @narendramodi commences the 50th edition of #MannKiBaat reminding listeners that this Golden Jubilee episode is indeed gilt-edged in every sense of the term.
PM @narendramodi revealed why he chose radio as a medium for #MannKiBaat reminiscing how during his travels in Himachal Pradesh in 1998 a lone tea-seller in a remote snow-clad hilly outpost informed him of India’s Nuclear tests after listening to the news on radio.(1/3)
“He must be listening to the radio all day; this was a medium that was truly connected with the masses…and it was a powerful means of getting across,” the PM thought.(2/3) #MannKiBaat
