In the #USA and much of the so-called #1stWorld, we are in Act 4 of a 5 act Shakespeare epic we might call “Pandemia 2020.”...
In the #UK, they seem mired in Act 3, and in #Russia, #Brasil, #Peru, and parts of #Africa it is Act 2! In #india it seems they are against a wall at the height of the Act 1!...
Why is this so?
To determine this, we must begin in December 2019.

On 26 Dec 2021 the govt in #Taipei, #Taiwan warned every other govt on Earth that their intelligence had determined there was a vrus spreading in #Wuhan, #PRC & that they were banning all travel from #China...

In response to #GurpatwantPannu's stupid call, three #Sikh boys who had planted #Khalistan flag on the Administrative complex of #Moga District on 14 Aug, 2020 have been languishing in Nabha jail without bail after .@NIA_India case

@PIBHomeAffairs @DGPPunjabPolice
was slapped on them. Met family of one of the accused Inderjeet Gill at village Rauli, District Moga, Punjab. Hard to describe their miseries as they were cursing #Pannu for using #Punjab youth as his fodder. Not a single penny is received from #SFJ #Pannu though he lured

with $2500. The family has no source of income. With just one acre of land, they're unable to hire even a lawyer. Villagers have boycotted them.

Time to realize that some criminals sitting abroad with ill-gotten money have been trying to radicalize Punjab youth

This is depressing, I thought we were way past this, alas, the divisiveness perpetuated by those in charge leads to this... this is outside my local gurdwara in Kent .... #racism #hate #Neonazi #nazi #Fascism #race #sikh #notohate #hopenothate
Thank you for your support; Gravesend has diverse and generally cohesive community, and people from all races and religions attend our magnificent guru ghar; this person was taught to hate, and is in the minority; a minority given a voice; let’s drown this hate out... 🙏🏾
Unfortunately there are ghouls that perpetuate this hate and seek to divide, it comes from the top, with lies and blame of others for their own failings and lust for power and greed. Generations before us fought against this hate #lestweforget

"Govt of India should reconsider its decision n grant permission to #SGPC #jatha going to attend centenary of #SakaNankanaSahib, which is a big massacre related to #Sikh history during Gurdwara Reform Movement (in 1921)", said #Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh.
"Sri Nankana Sahib was once in control of mahants who became lecher n perverted in patronage of British Govt. At that time, Khalsa Panth started Gurdwara Reform Movement to take control of Nankana Sahib", said Jathedar Sri Akal Takht.
"When on Feb20 (1921), jatha visited there, it was attacked by goons of mahant Narain Dass n hundreds of Sikhs got martyred with children too. It's been 100 years since that massacre took place. To remember those martyrs, Khalsa Panth is commemorating centenary events", he said.

Hey #Sikh Twitter, I’m not in that fold of the internet but, this is for you. This may be an unpopular opinion but, I genuinely would appreciate insight and thoughts from your experiences on this.

I think as a community we are erasing the Amritdhari woman.
It often feels like traditional Sikh spaces are open for Amritdhari Singhs and then new alternative Sikh spaces are for non-Amritdhari Sikh women.
The space for Amritdhari Kaurs is ... nonexistent?
Social media pages and blogs for Kaurs highlight non-Amritdhari Sikh women, panels adding a Sikh woman will often have non-Amritdhari women, Sikh families often have sons of Amritdhari Singhs and daughters of non-Amritdhari Sikh women.

I know my TL isn't purely brown people - so this a thread of injustice against Sikhs around the world right now.

Sikhs are portrayed round the world in such a positive light; as selfless caregivers.

And yet, throughout history, our people have been victims of great injustice.
Organisations such as the amazing @Khalsa_Aid have reached far - from the 2018 Indonesian Tsunami, to support at Grenfell in 2017, to aid during the 2015 Greek Refugee crisis.

Yet in our times of need, the media turns a blind eye, the Indian government have a deep rooted hatred
A majority of Sikhs come from the Punjab region of India, up north, close to the border with Pakistan, in agriculturally RICH land.

Despite only covering 1.53% of India, Punjab makes up TWO THIRDS of India's wheat production and one third of all milk production.

I had just finished by 10th board and was hungry for a vacation... we all know our struggles about board exams. it starts as you finish writing your final 8th standard exams. All your holidays are handed over to the tutor and you become slaves to the bag and books. 1/n
As the family planned my vacation, my grandfather wanted me to visit the land of 5 rivers, especially Amritsar as I had never visited Punjab. He wanted me to bow down at Harmandir Sahib also known as the Golden Temple and pray to the Guru Granth Sahib, the final Sikh Guru. 2/n
While we boarded the 4 hour-long flight from Mumbai (which flew via Delhi), my grandfather narrated me the story of the 4th Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji. Today, I am sharing with you the same story to honour Guruji on his birth anniversary. 3/n

There is a widespread resentment amongst Sikhs and Punjabis worldwide at the discriminatory manner in which Punjabi has been excluded as an official language of J&K by its administration.

Henna and the bride - Cultural and religious significance
It is not easy to trace back the origin of henna usage but it can be safely said that henna is being used for more than five thousand years for both healing and cosmetic purposes. Ancient civilizations were Image
known to use henna for various purposes, including its healing capacities, especially for brides.

Some historians argue that henna was brought into India by Mughals in the 12th century, but deities on 4th-5th century CE #Ajantacave murals have henna decoration. The henna
decoration is clearly illustrated on many more very old murals in southern India and Sri Lanka.

Coming on to more about henna, the term #Mehendi has its root in Sanskrit word ‘Mendhika’. A plant used to create the temporary colouring and it is mentioned in our Vedas that

.@capt_amarinder's response to advice against abuse of #UAPA & indiscriminate repression of innocent #Sikh youth is an archival reproduction of the old #IndiraGandhi narrative, describing every innocent Sikh youth as a potential terrorist. Image
Captain is walking a dangerous path for petty political gains putting at stake communal harmony in this sensitive border state. But we won't allow anyone to disturb the sentiment of fraternity, specially among Hindus & Sikhs.
People are fed up with @capt_amarinder's mis-governance & he is distracting their attention with sensational statements. CM Sahab when was it last that you spoke about governance, development, employment or economy of the state?

Be cautioned @capt_amarinder against the indiscriminate use of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act by Punjab police under DGP Dinkar Gupta who is known for his anti-Sikh stances. He should be strongly directed to desist from booking #Sikh youth under UAPA for minor offences.1/3 Image
Sikh youth are increasingly being jailed for minor offences under #UAPA. Your @DGPPunjabPolice thinks that indoctrination turns youth into terrorists during a one-day visit to Kartarpur Sahib as stated earlier by him. SAD will fight for Sikh youth implicated in false cases. 2/3
Dubbed youth as anti-nationalists & jailing them for minor offences can lead to unrest in Punjab & take it back to the dark era. Punjabis never supported #Referendum2020 or any divisive agenda & have a long history of sacrificing lives for the nation. 3/3

Submitted a complaint to Chandigarh Police demanding a case be registered against Dera Sirsa supporter Veerpal Kaur under sections 153, 153 (a), 153 (b) 295 (a) and 298 (b) IPC for hurting Sikh sentiment with blasphemous assumptions. 1/3 Image
First Veerpal Kaur made derogatory allegations against me, but after I sent her a legal notice, she admitted that she had never met me & regretted making the false allegations. Veerpal’s lies need to investigated to weed out her sponsors who tried to destabilise Punjab. 2/3 Image
What's more shocking is that along with her apology, she added comments placing dera head Ram Rahim at par with Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji & Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. These blasphemous remarks were widely circulated to outrage #Sikh sentiments as the dera head is a rape convict. 3/3 Image

These last two years have been immensely interesting, to say the least. Where one claim is that the sitting government isn't performing, the other side is all praise for the leadership.
All in all, the conclusion is one - we're moving forward, despite the situations. (1/n)
2) So, I sat down to do some research to draw a quick summary of what's been happening. Since transparency is @ImranKhanPTI's motto, it didn't take very long.

Following is a quick look at what's to be applauded in the last 2 years and especially the last few months.
3) To start off, PM @ImranKhanPTI's 100-day agenda was defined by 5 shifts and 34 promises. The shifts were focused on the poor, changing government culture, strengthening the federation, re-building Pakistan’s international credibility and setting a direction for progress.
