On 14th March, in #Kigali, #Rwanda, @MosengoOmba, the General Secretary of @CAF_Online, called me a “mercenaire” (mercenary) because of my journalism, which criticises, FACTUALLY, what is going wrong in CAF. I am going to ask him who the real mercenary in African football is.

Under the laws of the Democratic Republic of Congo, dual nationality is strictly forbidden by law. Once you take up the nationality of another country, you CANNOT be a national of DRC. @MosengoOmba is a citizen of #Switzerland, and lost his DRC nationality, as a result.

Before getting to the main #Kigali airport terminal, the major security checks are done. Cars taking passengers to the airport are put through an automatic car scanner, while the driver of the car and passengers go through their own checks, within the same zone.
After the driver and passengers go through the body scanners and metal detectors, they wait for the car to come through the automated 🚗 scanner. If it’s ‘clean’, it rolls through and the driver and passenger(s) get in and drive to the terminal…

We are located in a commercial area in Gishushu (with little to no residential presence) and have been operational since February 2020. We have been organizing events on our front yard (mainly acoustic live band or DJ) since October 2021.
In May 2022, we received apparent "noise pollution" warnings/a 150K fine. Since June, we moved our events at the back, facing offices (M&M Plaza, Tele 10, RDB etc). Yesterday, @RemeraRwanda decided to close the restaurant after a complaint from a citizen living in Nyarutarama.

Most of you will have heard of #Rwanda from "Hotel Rwanda" a film that tells a bit about the Genocide that happened in the country in 1994 - in 100 days between April-July - >800,000 Tutsi people were killed in a national Genocide.

According to today's first hearing, the well over 80-year-old businessman is accused of genocide as well as aiding and abetting it in a number of cases. Kabuga is said to have financed and equipped the Hutu militia Interahamwe,
which carried out the majority of the murders of at least 800,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu in 1994, and the accused directly for the radio and TV broadcaster RTLM, which was involved in the genocide and his public calls for massacres of the Tutsi minority were responsible.
