1. Asuras are a class of beings fathered by Kashyapa Rishi and mothered by Diti and Danu. Asuras born of Diti are called Daitya (meaning sons of Diti) and those born of Danu are called Danava (meaning sons of Danu).
2. Asuras are the opposite of Suras. Asura means those without light, those without spiritual knowledge or spiritual inclination. The devanagari letter अ (A) in (A)sura means ‘without’.

In the first few minutes of #UttarRamayan, #RamanandSagar clarified that pressure from #Valmiki samaj and discussions in Indian Parliament led to his acceptance of public demand to continue the serial with Lav Kush angle. #Ramayana

And electric lines were extend to the village in a record one week time (the local area MLA lived close by. He helped).

Don't get me wrong, I love #Ramayan. And has nothing to do with me being religious or not - the show is a masterpiece. I know many Muslim/Christian/Parsi friends too who love it!
