Vote Leave chief executive @matthew_elliott confirms to ⁦@JasonFarrellSky⁩ that Electoral Commission has initially concluded that its late EU Ref donation to Be Leave was “incorrect” and that it overspent after whistleblower testimony in March news.sky.com/story/vote-lea…
Elliott calls the ex Leave campaign aides “fantasists” - “the motivation of the so called whistleblowers and all three of them who came forward to the commission want to have a second referendum."
We haven’t had formal report from Electoral Comission, VL team basically gone public with their rebuttal before publication... but Dermot asked co-convener of Vote Leave campaign committee Michael Gove in March if he knew about these Beleave donations:
“The report itself is going to be challenged legally” says Michael Gove to @MishalHusainBBC re the Electoral Commission report that hasn’t been published yet that the Vote Leave chief exec says does find the campaign overspent limits and made an “incorrect” donation.
