The same Brexiters who were saying “would it be terrible if we became like Norway?” before the vote, now look at anything but completely-cut-all-ties-and-jump-off-the-cliff Proposals and opine “well, that’s not REEEEALLY Brexit, is it.” The mandate was to leave the EU. That’s it.
That’s the essence of it. Many were conned out of their vote with soft, easy, instant, painless, cake-and-eat-it #Brexit and now they’re being conned again into ownership of the hardest, most painful, chaotic disaster capitalism outcome, by being told “its what YOU voted for”.
And by the end of it, we’ll all be poorer, the UK irreparably damaged, but Rees-Mogg’s hedgefund will be quids in, Boris will be PM, Gove Chancellor and Fox getting commission on every deal. Because these people would burn us all to the ground, if they can rule over the ashes.
