Arriving at Chequers, @POTUS initially ignored shouted questions about whether he regretted his comments on #Brexit to @TheSun about whether or not he would voice his concerns to @theresa_may.
“The prime minister and I worked very hard together” on @NATO spending, @POTUS said. “It’s never been more united." About last night’s dinner, he said: “We talked for an hour and a half and it was really something.”
"We'll discuss our special relationship, which is great," says @theresa_may. Also to discuss with @POTUS "foreign policy, defense and security issues."
"The relationship is very, very strong" between the US and UK, declares @POTUS, sitting alongside @theresa_may, adding that during their meeting now at Chequers they'll be discussing issues involving "the Middle East and elsewhere."

The @POTUS-Xi dinner here was a “highly successful meeting," says @PressSec in statement and the Chinese president, "in a wonderful humanitarian gesture, has agreed to designate Fentanyl as a Controlled Substance."
And @POTUS agreed that on Jan. 1, he'll "leave tariffs on $200 billion worth of product at the 10% rate, and not raise it to 25% at this time," adds @PressSec.
"China will agree to purchase a not yet agreed upon, but very substantial, amount of agricultural, energy, industrial, and other product from the United States to reduce the trade imbalance between our two countries," according to @PressSec.

On a UK-wide customs arrangement: "A lot of countries would take the view that any UK-wide arrangement is really a matter for the future relationship rather than a backstop which is for N Ireland and Ireland. Also there's the whole issue of the level playing field..." (2)

2) The breathless screams about yesterday's #TreasonSummit warrant an immediate reply. The best place to start is to ask WHY? Why are the political left and the #MSM/#LSM claiming the Trump-Putin meeting to be treasonous? What is the basis?
3) Did you hear concerns of #Treason when #Traitor44 went around the world on his apology tour, disparaging the United States? They PRAISED #Obama for bowing to leaders of foreign nations & ridicule #POTUS for NOT BOWING in submission, as if we are subject to their kingdoms.

Chequers latest:

Am told that Andrea Leadsom and Esther McVey grumbled about the Brexit offering....but Boris was very quiet and Gove enthusiastic while Fox and Grayling (who’s doing Today tomorrow) were on good behaviour: some Tory Eurosceptics annoyed that no one resigned....
Indeed apparently Boris gave a mini speech at dinner supporting the deal, some colleagues found it “moving” apparently, that bit may or may not be sarcastic

1) let's talk about @BarryGardiner & @Emmabarnett #Brexit "car crash" interview on #marr, and the lessons for Labour.

In summary, when you are confident of your ground, and believe in what you're saying, then a hostile interviewer, as Michael Hayden demonstrated, can't touch you
2) the real story of #marr was the follow on interview with Michael Hayden (ex CIA). Barnett hit him over and over with "hasn't Trump achieved a lot", "you prejudged him", all of which he easily deflected.

He knew his ground, believed in his position, and was thus unshakeable
3) in contrast, @BarryGardiner and @uklabour position on #brexit is weak & inconsistent. Gardiner has made comments on brexit which are doubtless true but not party policy, thus he's left defending the indefensible, hence the car crash
