1/ Excellent article by @ByronYork.
Other than Manafort, Mueller has handed off all of his major cases that would seem to help make a collusion case. Seemingly undercutting the idea he will make such a grand claim against any American (Trump).

2/ The fact that Mueller publicly indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers indicated he has no intention of ever prosecuting anyone. If he had intended to, he would have sealed the indictments and attempted to secure at least one of the defendants. The charges were political.
3/ So why did Mueller indict the 12 intelligence officers publicly? It was absolutely political. A momentary defense of FBI/DOJ. An attempt to validate the Russian interference claim. Will it stand up to the test of time? I don’t think so.
4/ This is the big take away IMO. Mueller wants the “Russians hacked the DNC” on ice. Whether it was by design or not he has calcified these claims just waiting to be undercut or disproven. Now suddenly Assange’s extradition seems eminent. Coincidence?
5/ Was a special counsel needed? Yes. But not for the reasons most think. As I said previously, Mueller was needed to extricate the Russia investigation from the corrupt actors at FBI/DOJ so they could be dealt with while avoiding obstruction claims. Otherwise he was unnecessary.
6/ Once Mueller writes his report and clarifies that Trump did not collude or obstruct, Trump will be free to deal with the cabal without claims of obstruction. It’s a race to November. If Republicans win, and I think they will, Mueller will be over & Phase 2 begins. /end

1/ OK so here we are preparing for Trump’s primetime address from the Oval Office. I think it’s important to look back on how we got here and analyze Trump’s strategy. If you’re like me, you wanted Trump to do this on day one and every day since. It’s been hard to be patient
2/ It’s important to know that Trump always plays the long game and as every great strategist he doesn’t move all his chips in until the right moment. (Keep this in mind when you fear Trump will never hold people accountable for the corruption in 2016.)
3/ It only makes sense that this strategy and the timing around it was discussed and decided on going back to at least the transition. So as they sat around that table, why would they pick this option? Because it gave them a guaranteed win. That’s right, 100% certainty of a wall.

There’s not an obvious reason why he’d lie. Now keep in mind his lie to the FBI was precipitated by a supposed lie to Pence that led Pence to lie on a Sunday show. A straight reporter like Eli won’t speculate. I have. #StingTrap
3/ What resulted from Flynn’s “lying”? The exposure of the FBI’s political bias and corrupt intent; abuse of power, leaking and lying to the IG and Congress.

Unlike Susan Rice in Benghazi, FBI treated the National Security Advisor to the President as a member of a crime family.

1/ I want to deal with the question, did Flynn lie? I am going to approach it from a big picture perspective. The question has different answers depending on the context. I’ll deal first with the current legal matter.

However there’s a bigger more significant context.
2/ The currently pending charge is simply based on what was asked and answered in the FBI interview. The biggest problem we have is that we haven’t seen the original 302 so we are void of details. We now know Flynn realized there was a recording and mentioned that to McCabe.
3/ So, against that backdrop, does it seem likely he spoke with the FBI agents and contradicted what he knew was on the tape? Seems unlikely. Unless he was concerned that by answering truthfully attention would move to Pence. That’s the one reason that makes any sense to me.

2. About the Ukr plan
3. Handed Trump polling data over
4. Ongoing contacts w Trump campaign
3. What are the cumulative implications of those redactions?

a) that Manafort continued to act for Trump
b) that in that capacity he received polling help from Russian intelligence
c) in exchange for the same sanctions relief on Ukraine Cohen was working on

That's collusion.

Today, with #Manafort, we didn’t even get the equivalent of the Flynn “Appendix.”

The SCO asks for permission to file all the “factual material that relates to pending investigations or uncharged individuals” separately under seal.
Note that Donald J. Trump himself could be one of the "uncharged individuals"!

1. If Mueller sent out target letters to Trump insiders, then @RealDonaldTrump knows that indictments are coming. He looked absolutely fried in Paris. Not to cut him slack but he looked like somebody with Cholera.
2. #Manafort's plea required him to cooperate with "the Government and other law enforcement authorities identified by the Government." Fed R Crim P 6(e) authorizes #Mueller with #Rosenstein's permission to share his grand jury files with state prosecutors.
3. So I'll be shocked if by now there are not several indictments already handed down in state courts. Will also be shocked if, while @POTUS was traveling, Whitaker was not briefed on them & shared the secrets with Trump whose system is starting to react to the massive stress.
