3/ Yet two weeks later, U.S. troops committed a similar massacre against about 80 Germans who had surrendered in Chenogne, Belgium. That incident didn’t get the same sort of coverage.
4/ Historian Roger Marquet spent years piecing the incident together. He even embedded with veterans of the American unit responsible. Here’s what he says transpired.
5/ After the war, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered a full investigation into Chenogne. The unit responsible claimed they’d already sent a report.

They hadn’t.

Then, they said it was too late to produce one.
