The talk was part of a tour called Never Again - from Auschwitz to Gaza, and it was booked on Holocaust Memorial Day. So if Corbyn was surprised by what Hajo Mayer said just wait until someone tells him what the event he chaired was called.
This was Corbyn's response to the Times' story: "The main speaker at this Holocaust Memorial Day meeting, part of a tour entitled Never Again — for Anyone, was a Jewish Auschwitz survivor. Views were expressed at the meeting which I do not accept or condone."
I mean, really? Are we meant to accept this nonsense? Not only had Corbyn defended Mayer's views before when Jewish groups protested against them, but the tour was called (apologies for repetition) Never Again - Auschwitz to Gaza. What did he think the talks would be saying?
Funny how Corbyn apparently couldn't find any other Holocaust survivor other than one whose views he had to defend in the past, and one who compares Israel to Nazism. Poor Jeremy Corbyn, always a victim of circumstance.
